Full Job Description
Eagle Seven is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to lead a small team with technical design, planning, and implementation of our Microsoft ecosystem based solutions. This role will serve as a technical expert with direct influence over the design and implementation of our systems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have a strong sense of ownership and be driven to provide creative and technical solutions to business problems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and support physical and virtual servers, database servers, and high performance storage solutions
- Managing and leading systems and infrastructure projects
- Managing the day-to-day administration, support, maintenance and monitoring of the Microsoft Exchange environment
- Evolving our VMware environments to continue meeting our future growth needs
- Staying current with the latest technology trends in the industry; propose, evaluate and implement new solutions
- Serving as a technical expert, driving change to adopt new standards, maintaining reliability and improving performance metrics
- Developing solutions to automate and improve operational reliability and efficiency
- Driving efforts to continuously improve and maintain our Active Directory environment
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to improve existing hardware strategy including standards, life-cycle periods, vendor management and capacity planning
Requirements
- Strong understanding of architecting and configuring Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational Units
- Proven expertise in designing and architecting domain consolidation projects
- Managing the day-to-day administration, support, maintenance and monitoring of the Microsoft Exchange infrastructure
- Experience with WSUS for windows patch management, including drivers and firmware
- Previous automated software provisioning, operating system distribution and asset management
- Architectural design knowledge of storage and backup technologies
- Strong working knowledge of virtualization solutions
- Experience with configuration management systems, such as Salt, Ansible, Puppet, Chef
- Regular work exposure to Python and Git version control
- Previous cloud experience
- Functional knowledge of SQL and working with databases is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Motivated to identify and problem solve issues in a timely manner
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop and present ideas clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical team members
- High degree of flexibility and adaptability; comfortable in a dynamic working environment
- Knowledge of the financial industry is preferred
