Job Qualifications
General Description of the Job (tasks, duties, roles, expectations):
Process Engineering role onsite at a manufacturing facility in Metropolis, IL. The Mid-level/Senior Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance in process design and optimization within various projects. This role includes evaluating and implementing engineering solutions, performing process simulations, and leading process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. The Mid-level/Senior Process Engineer will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and ensure that all deliverables meet project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement process engineering solutions in alignment with client expectations, budget, and timelines.
- Conduct process simulations and modeling to analyze system performance.
- Lead process hazard analysis and risk assessments to ensure safety and compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide them through technical challenges.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders on project status and technical issues.
- Prepare and review engineering documentation, including process flow diagrams, P&ID’s, and technical reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in process engineering or related role.
- Strong technical knowledge of process design and optimization methods.
- Proficiency in process simulation software such as HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
