Full Job Description

The Operations Support Coordinator is a key member of our team, providing essential support for fleet operations (excluding dispatch and freight). This role involves assisting with driver relationships, supporting driver development, and contributing to fleet growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, support the Operations Support Manager, and help maintain smooth interdepartmental operations while fostering connections with our international team.

Responsibilities:

  • Driver Support:
    • Serve as a point of contact for drivers, handling inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
    • Assist in coaching and supporting drivers to ensure adherence to safety protocols and company standards.
    • Help implement driver retention initiatives to support fleet growth.
  • Operational Coordination:
    • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and maintenance, minimizing fleet downtime.
    • Support interdepartmental collaboration by working closely with teams such as dispatchers, freight, and maintenance.
    • Assist the Ops Support Manager with tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and basic analysis.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Maintain open communication with the international team, adapting communication strategies to different cultural contexts.
    • Monitor and compile operational metrics, preparing regular reports for management to highlight areas for improvement.
    • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Industry Awareness:
    • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to support compliance and optimize operations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process improvements and streamline operations.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work full-time at our Bridgeview, IL terminal.
  • Associate’s degree in business, operations management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in operations support or a similar role, preferably within the trucking or logistics industry.
  • Basic knowledge of fleet operations, driver management, and maintenance processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse and international teams.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and team members.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for fleet management and reporting.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and work outside regular office hours, if needed.
