A CG Life Senior Account Director is a core strategist responsible for building and maintaining client relationships on key, strategically important accounts, growing revenue within existing accounts, and delivering exceptional customer service to clients at all levels of the assigned organization.
As the primary client advocate thrive in fast paced environments and are excited by the challenge of helping their clients obtain results.
They are a day-to-day business builder with a keen focus on merging experience, current marketplace analysis and client goals to deliver successful marketing projects, programs and campaigns. They push past the status quo and encourage those around them to do the same.
Business and Industry Expertise:
- Display business acumen by maintaining an in-depth understanding of the client’s business, products and market landscape, acting as the primary client advocate to support project teams.
- Build and maintain strong business relationships at all levels in the client's organization apply knowledge beyond current client-base or vertical to facilitate long-term stability.
- Provide ongoing strategic and tactical advice to existing and recently won clients which deliver real results and simultaneously drive organic growth.
- Partner with brand strategy to lead market shaping and annual brand planning exercises to ensure all client needs are client are understood and solutions are being identified to support growing the account in a strategic and successful manner.
- Understand the goals driving the organization and how day-to-day interactions relate to them. A strong Senior Account Director understands business principles and follows policies, practices, and trends affecting the agency, the industry, our clients, and their competitors.
- Expert knowledge of the life science and healthcare industry, with over a decade of experience working across functional areas, therapeutic categories and multi-channel platforms.
Leadership:
- Encourages and coaches team members to use independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for collaborating to solve challenges and obtain results.
- Prepares employees for the increasing requirements of on-the-job professionalism by communicating expectations and values clearly, giving employees time to adjust to new tools or practices.
- Being sufficiently informed by team members, and personally involved as needed, to ensure the agency client relationship is in good standing, and that we are delivering sound planning, good service and thoughtful programs.
- Responsible for all aspects of a strong client partnership including high quality of work, strong business driving results, service excellence and proactive ideation.

- Demonstrated success at working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships both internally and externally.

- Able to negotiate and manage conflict, and customer concerns that cause significant dissatisfaction and frustration.
- Manage and mentor other member(s) of the team, responsible for goal setting, performance management, career growth, etc.
- Recognizes staff potential and guides employees in identifying challenging and stretching tasks based on interests and organizational need to achieve career goals.
- Monitors the progress of direct reports and stays involved with their development, by being a good source of feedback, guidance, and encouragement.
- Dedicated to self-development and seizes on-the-job opportunities to enrich skills and learn new information about their profession on a regular basis.
Reports to: Vice President of Client Services
Requirements
- 12+ years proven experience in an agency or in-house on the client-side leading marketing
- Experience in life sciences and/or pharma is required for this role.
- Demonstrated ability to grow existing business and participate strategically in new business.
- Prior agency experience with drug launch and multi-channel marketing plan execution.
- Outstanding project management skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and manage detailed budgets.
- Outstanding business interpersonal skills. Ability to explain sophisticated terms, clinical trials, and studies pertaining to the brand. Strong data orientation.
- Ability to break down major business challenges into measurable steps to achieve success.
- Management experience required. Able to empower, keep teams on track, and participate in professional development of team.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently (1-2 times per month).

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $165,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
