Senior Accountant

Wow Bao is searching for a Senior Accountant to join the team! The Senior Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities.  Responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. This role is onsite five days a week in our Chicago (River North) office.

Requirements

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
• Validate deductions passes on by distributors
• Process invoices and ensure timely payments
• Conduct monthly inventory counts and track inventory levels
• Handle prepaid expenses and accruals
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with restaurant accounting and reporting
• Process employee expense reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data
• Undertake additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to driving overall team success
• Be available to assist and work during Wow Bao offsite events such as Lollapalooza, National Bao Eating Contest, National Bao Day and other events as needed
• Multitask calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Follow all rules, policies, and procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Other duties will be assigned as needed

Required Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• 2-3 years of experience as an accountant or auditor
• Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or manufacturing industry preferred
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Experience with Restaurant365 a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Partake in a professional and positive work environment

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
