Full Job Description
This role is responsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction and minimizing the risk of errors or issues with shipments.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy.
2. Perform thorough inspections of all incoming raw materials and ingredients, assessing them against established quality parameters and specifications.
a. Evaluate products for defects, damages, or deviations from specified standards and take appropriate action based on findings.
3. Perform Gluten testing on incoming ingredients.
4. Carefully review and verify Certificates of Analysis (COA) for each shipment to ensure all materials meet predefined criteria and regulatory requirements.
a. Cross-check COA details with physical shipment characteristics to identify any discrepancies or quality issues.
5. Ensure that outgoing shipments are properly packaged and meet the required specifications
6. Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
7. Ensure proper labeling and packaging of outbound shipments
8. Identify and report any discrepancies or damages
9. Document and track all shipment inspection activities
10. Collaborate with Warehouse to resolve issues and ensure smooth shipment processes
11. Maintain organized records of shipping and receiving activities and communicate findings to management
12. Work closely with the purchasing and production departments to communicate quality issues and coordinate corrective measures.
13. Engage in regular discussions with suppliers and the logistics team to improve material quality and resolve any recurring problems.
14. Adhere to all safety protocols
OTHER DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for reporting food safety, food quality or plant safety issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Previous experience in shipping and receiving or quality assurance
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment
· Detail-oriented and accurate in data entry and recordkeeping
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell
· Occasionally lift/move 50 lbs
· Specific vision includes the following: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
