We are currently looking for a Social Content Director in North America who is a proven, creative, social media expert who is ready for the opportunity to define and develop our growing creative service.
As a Social Content Director you will be the perfect mix of leader, storyteller, and doer; able to create the vision for the team, lead the development of content creators and create social-first content that helps our clients achieve their goals.
WHAT YOUβLL DO π
- Set the creative vision - In partnership with the VP of Social Innovation, you will set the vision for The Social Elementβs growing Creative Team, ensuring that weβre competitive and first-class in the evolving world of social content.
- Implement Creative Ownership and Execution - Think, lead and do by actively contributing to creation of deliverables including creating graphic and video content, overseeing and executing photo shoots, content editing, etc. Own creative work through the lifecycle of a project - for concept to development, to client pitching, creating, refining and delivering.
- Be a Social Native and Trend Spotter - Stay on top of the latest platform updates and social culture trends. Identify the right moments for clients to join a trend, and create the unique content for moments for clients to lead the trends.
- Own Team Development - Lead development of the Social Content Creators, guiding them to achieve goals and assist in supporting their professional development. Lead in the hiring and contracting of additional creative team members in conjunction with creative vision.
- Nurture Strategic Partnerships - Partner closely with Strategy to turn insights into strong performing creative. Provide strategic and creative feedback and lead brainstorms and concepting. Develop creative executions based on strategic insights and briefs.
- Influence in Thought Leadership and Be a Client Leader - Serve as a thought leader in the social industry and with clients, helping to unlock ways to creatively achieve their goals and connect with their audiences.
- Be a Presentation and Storytelling Expert - Support your content recommendations through strong written, editing, presentation, and communication skills. Leverage creative elements to captivate audiences and convey complex thoughts, emotions, and events simply and beautifully.

- Avid and passionate social media user with an interest and curiosity in internet culture and on top of the latest Tik Tok and Instagram memes.
- An extension of your clients own creative teams where you are able to support and sell-in unique ideas to your clients
- A leader in the agency creative space by partnering with valuable insights to create stand-out creative
- Solutions orientated collaborator who is able to being new creative solutions to clients
- Confidence and gravitas in pitching content ideas to clients and internal stakeholders
- Creative thought leader who is passionate about the creative process and the achievements you make
Requirements
- Extensive experience of creative leadership for social media platforms including stills, GIFS, and short form video
- An existing portfolio or real-world social content work, including client case studies, is required
- Proven track record of creative talent management and new business pitching
- Exceptional presentation skills are required
- Existing freelance contacts preferred
- Experience with digital photography and retouching, familiar with leading photoshoots
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Expert foundation in photography, video, typography, layout and illustration
- Proficiency with a wide array of Adobe Creative Suite programs will be valued
