Coating Manager

We are currently seeking a Coating Manager to join our team. As the Coating Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the coating operations in our optical lab to ensure the production of high-quality coated lenses that meet customer specifications. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence.

The Role:

As the Coating Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage the daily operations of the coating department.
• Manage the training, development, and safety of a team of lab personnel
• Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of coating equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Train and mentor coating technicians to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor and analyze coating performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements.
• Collaborate with the lab director and other department managers to optimize workflow and achieve overall operational goals.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in coating technology, recommending and implementing upgrades as necessary.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, enforcing compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Establish procedures to ensure a high quality product with little variance in output

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
• Prior experience in lens coating operations within an optical manufacturing facility.
• Proven leadership abilities with the capacity to mentor and develop a team.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of coating equipment and processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Flexibility and adaptability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines.
