Requirements

As a Maintenance Mechanic you have a business critical role. You will perform scheduled rebuilds and troubleshoot all production equipment. Independently plan and organize the proper repair approach, initiating all mechanical repairs necessary to return equipment to safe and effective operating condition. Successful candidate must be capable of entering worklogs in maintenance tracking software using computer/tablets.

The Evansville, IN manufacturing plant is futureproofing and expanding the capacity of its high performance materials compounding facility. The extensive modernization and expansion of the site is being driven by increasing customer demand for advanced material solutions for electrification, metal replacement and light-weighting in multiple industries. It includes the addition of the latest state-of-the-art production technologies, increasing efficiency and sustainability throughout the facility.

You’ll be responsible to:

• Troubleshooting mechanical equipment.

• Disassembles equipment using a wide variety of hand and power tools as well as micrometers, calipers, gages, and meters to determine if tolerances of critical components are within prescribed limits.

• Perform minor electrical repairs on low voltage (<480v) circuits.

• Re-assembles equipment using precision-measuring equipment to properly fit and adjust critical clearances and components. • Performs preventative maintenance (PM) related duties as assigned.

• Develops the proper approach to correcting specific malfunctions then independently plans and organizes the repair sequences necessary to correct problems pertaining to mechanical systems and equipment.

• Determines what parts require replacement then either obtains or fabricates necessary replacement parts as required.

• Performs operational tests of repaired equipment to ensure that it is in safe and effective operating condition prior to un-tagging and turning it over to production personnel for use.

• Various mechanical repair, consisting of, but not limited to:

• Welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication of mild steel, stainless and aluminum.

• Changing/adding oil to gearboxes and bearings.

• Changing oil filters and other filters as necessary.

• Cut and thread pipe, repair and or replace valves and fittings, etc.

• Replace miscellaneous belts and couplings on various equipment.

• Rigging, removing and aligning large motors and gearboxes

• Using torch for burning and cutting as necessary.

• Ability to drill and tap holes.

• Performs other duties within the scope of the position as assigned.

• Experience with operating manlifts (working at heights)

• Comply with established safety policies and procedures.

What we like to see in your experience:

• 3 or more years as a journeyman or demonstrated experience.

• 2 or more years experience in industrial maintenance – mechanical.

• Working knowledge of relevant manufacturing/maintenance safety requirements.

• Ability to use shop and hand tools.

• Ability to read blueprints and equipment manuals.

• Ability to use welding machines

• Starting wage $30.39 per hour increasing to $34.17 in the first year.
