Position Summary: As the Vice President of Development Operations at KCG Companies, you will play a pivotal role in the Development department, engaging in the full spectrum of our development projects. This role is essential in ensuring the successful execution of projects from pre-closing stages to the completion of 8609's. You will lead a team of Development Analyst/Managers and Project Directors, providing guidance, support, and strategic direction to ensure that projects are meeting deadlines throughout the project life cycle, within budget, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This position requires a strong background in real estate development, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to providing quality affordable housing options for communities in need.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leadership, Team Management, and Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor a team of Development Analyst/Managers and Project Directors, providing guidance and support throughout all stages of development projects.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to support the growth and development of team members.
- Play a key role in the training of Development team members.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within a team focused on goal achievement and team growth.
- Serve as an ambassador of the KCG Values both inside and outside the organization.
- Maintain strong relationships within the organization and serve as a resource for all stakeholders.
- Project Oversight and Management:
- Contribute to the success of the entire development process from pre-closing to 8609's, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
- Work with the team to manage department capacity, meet with direct reports to assist with training needs, meeting team goals, and team growth.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems to streamline processes, mitigate risks, and maximize project success while remaining in-line with company values and goals.
- Compliance and Regulatory Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing low-income housing development projects.
- Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices and communicate necessary updates to project plans and procedures.
- Work closely with the development team and regulatory agencies to address any compliance issues or regulatory challenges.
Requirements
Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, ideally in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in real estate development. Affordable Housing Experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role.

- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing development projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Innovative thinker with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong quantitative and project management skills to successfully navigate complex real estate development projects.
- Ability to drive decisions and outcomes through consensus and coalition building with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
