Lead Cost Accountant
Summary: We are seeking a proactive Cost Accounting and Financial Inventory Lead to manage and optimize our company's cost accounting operations. This role involves supervising daily cost accounting activities, enhancing cost control methods, and providing detailed analysis and reporting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Cost Accounting Operations: Oversee all cost accounting functions, including raw material purchases, inventory, and labor costs.
- Analyze Cost Factors: Evaluate changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, and services to determine cost impacts. Compare factors affecting prices and profitability.
- Policy Enforcement: Establish, monitor, and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
- Financial Data Management: Accumulate and consolidate financial data for accurate business results accounting.
- Closing Processes: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including audit preparations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and analysis, focusing on variances.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor business performance metrics.
- Software and Process Evaluation: Assess and improve accounting software and processes for timely and accurate information.
- Cost Reporting Liaison: Serve as the main contact for cost reporting and processes.
- Sustainability Practices: Promote reducing waste, recycling, and reusing resources.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure safety practices are followed, report injuries, and propose corrective actions.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Coach and mentor staff to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
- Safety Leadership: Promote a safety culture, encourage safe practices, and hold employees accountable for unsafe acts.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field. 3-4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports and business correspondence.
- Quantitative Skills: Proficiency in bookkeeping, payroll, and budgeting calculations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts like probability and statistical inference. Skilled in creating and analyzing spreadsheets, charts, and reports.
