Full Job Description
As the Nursing Coordinator for Child Start, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and assessing health services for children aged 0-5 in the Early Childhood Program, as well as for pregnant women and their families. This will be done in alignment with Performance Standards, state licensing requirements, local Health Department regulations, and guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics. You will ensure that health services are delivered effectively and appropriately, maintain a record-keeping system for health services, guarantee compliance with relevant standards, and establish and lead a Health Advisory Committee. The role also involves demonstrating leadership and supervision over Site Nurses while practicing reflective supervision. Regular attendance is a key requirement for this position.
- Demonstrate positive leadership in supervising and building strong teams to coordinate health services
- Utilize critical thinking skills in evaluating/monitoring services
- Exhibit good problem solving skills and is solution driven to meet participant and staff needs
- Demonstrate strong oral and written skills
- Develop & maintain cooperative relationships with physicians, dentists and other local health care providers in order to provide healthcare for enrolled children
- Evaluate/develop/provide health training to agency staff
- Show proficiency in utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint software and working with data base systems
- Keep informed of local/state/federal health practices and community health concerns to ensure safety of enrolled children and families
- Provide direct nursing services to our partnering sites
- Utilize nursing experience/knowledge in ensuring children ages 0-5 are current on immunizations and well-child checks
- Work collaborative with agency Leadership and Health Coordinators teams to ensure quality services are provided that meet federal requirements
Requirements
- RN license required, BSN preferred.
- Requires three years of related experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or community health.
- Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
- The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects or materials up to 30 lbs.
Benefits
Child Start's Nursing Coordinator position is $30.26/hour, 40 hours/week and 52 weeks/year.
