Are you a mechanical engineering major looking to gain practical, real-world experience? The Geoprobe Systems® Pre-Engineering Internship program offers a hands-on opportunity for rising sophomores or juniors to work with innovative drilling and tooling machines. You will start your journey in the Kansas service department, where you'll get to know our machinery and engage in problem-solving activities alongside a dedicated team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn about mechanical and electrical systems while contributing to meaningful projects that support real customers.
This internship is a steppingstone for a future career as a mechanical engineer, providing practical experience that complements academic learning. Interns who demonstrate growth and commitment will be considered for future internship opportunities in our engineering program.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of technical drilling equipment under the guidance of experienced staff
- Participate in diagnosing issues and troubleshooting problems on equipment
- Learn to read and interpret schematic engineering drawings and manuals
- Support the assembly and disassembly of components and systems
- Exposure to machine and fabrication shops
- Embrace a variety of tasks and projects, offering you a broad learning experience
