Full Job Description
Summary:
The Rig Service Specialist combines the technical abilities of a service mechanic with the customer-centered approach of a phone support specialist. This position requires a unique blend of hands-on mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to effectively communicate with end users to provide comprehensive support for technical drilling equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on rigs and related equipment
- Provide phone support to customers, guiding them through troubleshooting procedures
- Maintain detailed records of service interactions, solutions provided, and follow-up actions
- Timely input of machine related customer interactions into system
- Work collaboratively with a team.
- Continuously learn and stay updated on the latest industry developments and technologies.
- Willing to travel (Fly or Drive) to customers experiencing technical issues in the field. (This does not happen regularly, but sometimes happens on short notice)
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Able to work 45-hour work week
Requirements
Traits of the Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a service mechanic with strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Energized by helping others succeed.
- Experience in customer service or phone support roles preferred.
- Willing to travel and work on equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software.
- Experience with SAP software is a plus.
