Hire Resolve is currently searching for a skilled Civil Project Engineer to join a premier architectural and engineering (A/E) services firm that specializes in the global design of secure, mission-driven facilities. The position is based in Lexington, KY with other positions in Glen Allen, VA and Chantilly, VA.
- Review work assigned to other engineers and designers to ensure accurate documentation of project scope.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients regarding Civil department project responsibilities, including meetings, conference calls, and reviewing/responding to comments.
- Lead construction phase contract administration activities for Civil department projects, including managing submittals, RFIs, and providing construction support.
- Demonstrate expertise in primary production methods, calculations, and diverse design processes, with comprehensive project experience from inception to substantial completion.
- Direct and lead others in the production of Civil engineering projects.
- Perform engineering calculations, develop schedules and cost estimates, and revise specifications as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers, disciplines, and project managers to ensure project scope satisfaction.
- Act as the client-facing representative of the Civil department and engage in business development activities.
- Support project managers and department leadership in modifying design scope for assigned projects.
- Manage project costs throughout the design process and present ideas to clients through drawings, renderings, and other exhibits.
- Act as the Responsible Engineer of Record for some or all Civil department project deliverables, ensuring technical sufficiency.
- Conduct Interdisciplinary Team Reviews (ITR) on departmental work and coordinate with internal and external architects and engineers.
- Ensure design constructability and coordination with other disciplines for successful construction projects.
- Handle all Civil Construction Administration responsibilities for projects.
- Build trusted relationships within the department by delivering efficient and high-quality work, being a proactive learner, and maintaining professional humility and respect.
- Recognize own technical limitations and seek support as needed while providing guidance to less senior staff.
- Take direction from senior staff and provide guidance to junior staff within the department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in Civil Engineering (2 years with Professional Engineer (PE) license).
- LEED AP BD+C Credential (preferred) or GPCP Certification, or ability to obtain LEED AP BD+C Credential.
- Professional License in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CAD/BIM software such as Autodesk Civil 3D or MicroStation.
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team.
- Successful completion of background screening process.
- Some travel required.
