Position Summary:

The City of Danville is seeking a Customer Support Agent to join our Customer Service Department. The Customer Support Agent will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and support to residents, businesses, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

- Respond to incoming customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person.

- Provide accurate and helpful information to customers regarding city services, programs, and policies.

- Process customer service requests, such as utility bill payments, service installations, and account changes.

- Investigate and resolve customer complaints, concerns, and issues in a professional and efficient manner.

- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.

- Stay up-to-date with city regulations, policies, and procedures to provide accurate information to customers.

- Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Previous customer service experience preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Ability to handle difficult and irate customers with professionalism and empathy.

- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing customer service needs.

- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
