Position: Health & Wellness Coach

Position Summary:
The City of Danville is seeking a Health & Wellness Coach to join our Parks and Recreation Department. The Health & Wellness Coach will be responsible for developing and implementing health and wellness programs, as well as providing guidance and support to individuals and groups in order to promote healthy lifestyles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a strong background in health and wellness.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and wellness programs for all age groups.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to individuals and groups in achieving their health and wellness goals.
- Conduct assessments to determine individual health and wellness needs.
- Create personalized plans and strategies to help clients achieve their goals.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and classes on various health and wellness topics.
- Collaborate with other professionals and organizations to enhance the effectiveness of health and wellness programs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in health and wellness.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and program outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Exercise Science, Nutrition, or related field.
- Certified Health and Wellness Coach (CHWC) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in health and wellness coaching or related field.
- Strong knowledge of health and wellness principles, practices, and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Passion for helping others and promoting healthy lifestyles.
- Knowledge of community resources and programs related to health and wellness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to demonstrate exercises and physical activities.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
