The Role:
The Manager, Supply Planning will be responsible for managing people, process, and systems within the Supply Planning function. In this role, you will oversee the forecasting of both finished goods and raw materials needs, while providing valuable reporting around inventory management of finished goods and components required for production. The Manager, Supply Planning will work closely with cross-functional teams including Demand Planning, Strategic Sourcing, Inventory Control, External Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure that our business meets demand while carrying optimal inventory levels and minimizing inventory carrying costs. The ideal candidate for the Manager, Supply Planning role will have a strong background in supply/production planning, materials planning, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to identify and implement process improvements.

This position is on-site in Louisville, KY.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and implement planning strategies to optimize inventory levels while meeting production and customer service objectives.
  • Manage and train a team of supply and material planners to ensure accurate and timely execution of planning activities. 
  • Build a supply plan that ensures optimal inventory levels of finished goods are maintained to meet or exceed company targets and goals. 
  • Monitor and analyze materials usage, production schedules, and inventory levels to identify and resolve potential issues or risks.
  • Lead weekly/monthly Supply Review meetings, including management of planning summary decks meeting the needs of senior leadership. 
  • Model various supply/demand scenarios, identifying & communicating supply/demand conflicts/imbalances to determine tradeoffs and potential risks. 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to planning and procurement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning systems/tools, reporting, teams, and processes. 
  • Oversee the development and management of mid- and long-term production plan monthly to set production targets and directional strategy for suppliers. Evaluate the effects sales and production variations have on the mid- and long-term plans continuously. 
  • Utilize available scenario & supply planning data to build ad-hoc models and projections to provide impact summaries to senior leadership as well as to facilitate informed decision making and appropriate risk-taking. 
  • Provide input into future planning tools to leverage for process and performance improvements. 

Key Skills and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in supply or materials planning and supply chain management, preferably in the consumer goods or food & beverage industry, as well as 2+ years managerial experience.
    • Experience utilizing contract manufacturing within food and beverage is a strong PLUS
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in:
    • Excel (including layout, formulas, charts, graphs, and model building)
    • Powerpoint (including graphs & charts, reporting, and ability to independently format professional presentations)
    • Planning & project management software is a plus
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • APICS certification is a plus 
    • A CPIM or CSCP certification is a strong PLUS
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is preferred
