POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Hand is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a team within the facility, ensuring production targets are met and quality standards are maintained. This role involves coordinating tasks, providing guidance to team members, and supporting the supervisor in managing workflow and resources.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Provide training and guidance to team members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Assist in planning and scheduling work to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Communicate with supervisors and management regarding production status, issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Perform quality checks on products and processes, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Assist in the resolution of production issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Support the implementation of Lean and 5S initiatives within the team.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for production activities.
- Perform other duties as required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in using manufacturing software and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
