Looking for the opportunity to join a top team at a Level-I Trauma Center?
The Cardiac Sonographer should possess and be able to demonstrate the skills necessary to perform all aspects of the following on a wide variety of patient populations:
- transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography
- other specialized echocardiography procedures (i.e. stress echocardiography)
- cardiopulmonary procedures (i.e. EKGs, etc.) and should assist in performing these procedures, as needed. This person will use communication and available resources to promote quality and cost-efficient patient care.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Assures compliance with JCAHO, OSHA, infection control, safety and other regulatory standards including privacy and security regulations (HIPAA); is supportive of hospital and departmental objectives, decisions and policies by deed and speech.
- Identifies abnormalities that may immediately impact the patient’s health. Notifies physicians of abnormalities and/or completion of procedure, as appropriate.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures; participates in writing, revision, and annual review of policies and procedures.
- Takes call, as necessary, to assure coverage after hours, on weekends and holidays.
- Cross-trains on equipment at other campuses and works at those campuses when necessary.
- Assists in development and monitoring of Departmental Goals and System Improvement (SIG) initiatives. Strives to achieve goals and improvement and encourages other staff to do so as well.
SALARY: $28.70-$44.69 dependent on experience
Requirements
- Associates or higher in Respiratory Therapy, Cardiopulmonary Science, or other related field.
- Minimum of 2 years hands-on training and has attended at least one formal training seminar (i.e. Owen Brown) for echocardiography.
- ARDS or CCI Echo Credential required
