Full Job Description
As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will provide engineering support for maintenance and reliability team to address plant issues that are impacting production over a short period of time. You will provide technical expertise, which may be equipment, based or repair technique based that impacts the availability and maintainability of the facility. This role requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Maintenance department in developing, maintaining and assuring execution of preventive maintenance program (PM) and predictive maintenance program
Monitors Key Performance Indicators for the maintenance department using SAP and other tools.
Document modifications, alterations, improvements to the facility via drawings and records on an ongoing basis
Conduct "Root Cause Analysis" meetings to determine and rectify problematic issues in the process. Serve as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
Analyze impact of equipment failures on maintenance spending to identify improvement opportunities
Provide technical engineering support and oversight for maintenance/process improvement and cost reduction projects
Coordinates the project activities at the plant level with all involved departments such as operation, management, maintenance, compliance and Health and Safety
Provide technical leadership & training on overall mechanical system sizing, selection, and design practices
Monitor all related costs associated with the Mechanical Maintenance Team
Develop and support on Plant Continuous Improvement Projects,
Identify opportunity areas
Assist in programs and procedures to ensure compliance to all plant Safety regulations
Assist maintenance manager in preparing yearly budget, maintenance schedule
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical Engineering Degree
5 Years Maintenance/Engineering experience in heavy manufacturing facility preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Multi-lingual preferred, English (required)
Should be Detail oriented with proven analytical and Proactive problem-solving approach
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Solid knowledge & understanding of hydraulics, Pneumatics and rotating equipment
Must be able to manage all aspects of the Maintenance department and work closely with the Mechanical Reliability Leader and Mechanical Planner.
Experience in design and engineering improvements projects;
Experience handling multiple small & large projects simultaneously
Ability to organize, present, and explain complex data in a clear manner;
Ability to read and produce 2D and 3D drawings as required Using AutoCAD
Experience in Microsoft Office Tools and SAP
Construction/start up experience desired but NOT required;
Galvanizing and Paint Lines Experience a huge plus!
