Channel Ship Services Limited (CSS) is looking for a talented Offshore Survey Engineer to join our innovative team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing offshore survey operations, ensuring that accurate data is collected for various projects.
This position will be using 4DNAV so experience with that software is essential. Fusion 1 and LBL array experience is also a plus.
Mobilization date: Oct 8th to Houma and flyout to Vessel on the 9th Oct.
Location: Gulf Of Mexico – US waters

2 X ROVs mobilized with the Following:
- Standard ROV Sensors
- Gen 5 Mux
- DVL
- Gyro

Compat Arrays to be set and calibrated in the Field / Array Maintenance
Duration 16-20 Days
Responsibilities
- Design and implement offshore survey plans to meet project objectives and specifications.
- Oversee the operation of survey equipment and ensure proper calibration before and during surveys.
- Collect, process, and analyze survey data to produce actionable insights and reports.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and survey teams to ensure alignment and success.
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot any issues that may occur during operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations of survey findings for clients and internal teams.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior surveyors and technicians.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Offshore Survey Engineer in marine survey operations.
- Strong understanding of various survey methods and equipment, including multibeam sonar, LBL systems, and GPS technology.
- Proficiency in data processing and analysis software.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to offshore operations.
- Willingness to work in challenging offshore environments and adapt to varying work schedules.
- Valid driver's license and passport.
- Offshore certification and training (e.g., BOSIET) preferred.
- Potential for travel to various project sites nationally and internationally.
