Full Job Description
1 Resource Group is hiring a PLC & Automation Engineer the ideal candidate will have a strong background in Programmable Logic Controllers and automation systems, with a focus on maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optional functionality of our clients systems.
Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain PLC-based control systems and automation solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on existing PLC systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLCs, HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and associated equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement upgrades or modifications to existing systems to meet evolving business needs.
• Create and update technical documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, and maintenance procedures.
• Provide technical support and training to maintenance technicians and operators regarding PLC systems and automation equipment.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in PLCs and automation to propose innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or related field.
• Proven experience working with PLCs.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and experience with various PLC hardware and software.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing faults in PLC-based control systems and associated components.
• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and their integration with PLCs.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Prior experience in performing maintenance, upgrades, and modifications to existing automation systems is preferred.
• Relevant certifications or training in PLC programming and automation technologies are advantageous.
