Full Job Description
As the Service/Repair Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of StoneAge rental equipment and customer owned products in a way that make our customers ask, “Why would I choose anybody but StoneAge?” You will also be assisting the branch rental program, including the preparation of rental equipment for customers, and acting as technician/demonstrator when needed. This position also includes setting our customers up for success by demonstrating how equipment works and providing support when there are technical issues. This helps foster and propagate the safe and effective use of water jetting equipment, notably automated cleaning systems in our industry. Our ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, looking to learn new skills, able to work well with teams, and is confident communicating with customers.
This position pays between $20 and $22 per hour, depending on experience, and reports to the Branch Operations Manager.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Interact with customers with professionalism during rental returns, maintenance demonstrations, repairs, and/or warranty requests.
- Ensuring the customer is knowledgeable in the safe operation of the rental equipment and that all manuals and training material are proved with the equipment.
- Repairing and maintaining StoneAge rental equipment, including receiving equipment back into rental inventory. Ensuring that all items are properly accounted for and the missing items are reported to the Branch Operations Manager.
- Making sure rental inventory is accurate before renting equipment and providing feedback on Inventory levels for components used in equipment service and repair.
- Complete the repair and replacement of the Branch’s rental equipment while maintaining them in presentable and ready state so customers can experience a quick and easy transaction.
- Performing inventory operations including material receiving, cycle counting, and shipping activities as required.
- Process rental quotes and contracts.
- Provide feedback to the Branch Manager for improvements to the rental program.
- Provide feedback to Engineering regarding tool design, maintainability, and warranty issues.
- Teach Customers how to properly repair tools, this may be accomplished in classrooms style training, or though remote troubleshooting if at a jobsite.
- Communicating schedule conflicts with the Branch Manager.
- Staying knowledgeable about new tool developments in preparation for repairs, maintenance and warranty returns.
- Take ownership for all maintenance of branch equipment, including but not limited to parts washer, manual lathe, bead blaster and high-pressure pumps.
- Employ a strong continuous improvement mentality, constantly looking to drive improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of StoneAge work processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees and communicate and interact effectively with management and team members at all levels through both verbal and written means.
- Provide after-hours customer support according to the on-call schedule.
- Work with the Branch Manager to ensure all on/off site customer support requests follow the support request process flow – salesforce calendar.
- Build & maintain positive working relationships with your team, be a team player.
- Build relationships with our rental and repair customers, understand their needs, and prioritize work appropriately.
- Cooperate with safety regulations and become familiar with the WJTA recommended practices.
- Perform other duties requested by the Branch Operations Manager.

KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma/ GED and experience in a maintenance setting is a plus.
- Be committed to “Safety First”.
- Be highly motivated to give great customer service.
- Knowledge of basic shop hand tools and willingness to clean equipment using a pressure washer
- Understand tool assembly, testing methods, best practices, sealant, torque specification and leak/pressure testing.
- Learn proper waterblast testing methods.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), and willingness to learn how to manage inventory and quote using StoneAge software.
- Complete the WJTA Recommended Practices and Safety training.
OTHER INFORMATION
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Valid drivers license, DOT licensing is a plus.
- Extended working hours may be needed during peak seasons.
- Must be able to lift heavy loads using proper lifting techniques as outlined in the StoneAge Employee Handbook.
