GET is seeking a highly qualified Classified Material Control Specialist to support the United States Department of Energy's Office of Classification (OC) in Germantown, Maryland, as a Program Specialist. This is a critical position that has a direct impact on our team’s success.
Program Specialist Duties:
The Program Specialist maintains accountability and control of Top Secret (TS), Foreign Government, and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) documents in accordance with DOE procedures. This individual also:
- Enters required data into the DOE Classified Action Tracking System (CATS) for each document review request received and prepares document review action packages for processing (CATS training provided).
- Enters required data into CATS for each completed document review action package.
- Receives, documents, and distributes classified materials directed to the OC and its sub-offices.
- Records receipt of classified communications, inventories received classified material, and completes and returns acknowledgments of receipt of classified documents.
- Prepares outgoing classified materials generated by the OC and its sub-offices for shipment.
- Produces duplicates of outgoing materials as required by OC procedures.
- Inventories outgoing classified communications and prepares acknowledgments of receipts.
- Ensures acknowledgements of receipt are received for all outbound classified document traffic.
- Maintains accountability and control of Classified Removable Electronic Media in accordance with DOE procedures.
Compensation Range:
Yearly compensation will be between $80,000/year and $95,000/year depending on qualifications.

This position requires a current, fully adjudicated Top Secret security clearance or DOE Q security clearance to apply. Applicant must have the ability to obtain and maintain an SCI clearance as a condition of continued employment.
Skills and Experience:
- The individual must possess strong writing and analytical skills and be able to work independently.
- Knowledge of Federal Government office correspondence requirements is highly sought after.
- Knowledge of the DOE classification program including the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended, Executive Order 13526, and DOE security orders is highly desirable.
- The ability to maintain a professional, positive, and constructive relationship with team members, employees, and clients is essential to our mission and a requirement for this position.
- Although not required, this position is well suited for a former military senior non-commissioned officer (SNCO) with experience as a classified material custodian.
Education:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
