Full Job Description
- Perform general labor duties such as loading/unloading equipment, materials, excavating, trenching, and shoring.
- Operate tools and equipment such as tampers and other compaction devices including the DCP tool. This includes being subjected to hazardous situations, such as loud noises, vibrations, etc.
- Ability to safely use hand tools in order to dig in close proximity to coworkers, or any existing utility structures to prevent damage.
- Maintain an organized worksite that is clean and free from unnecessary hazards.
- Ability to learn basic gas utility safety.
- For advancement, must obtain and maintain basic operator qualifications. Failure to obtain and maintain the necessary OQs may result in demotion, reduction in hourly pay rate, or termination of employment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned or requested by supervisors, leadership, or senior team members.
Requirements
- Basic communication skills and the ability to comprehend written and verbal instruction. Maintain a valid driver’s license with a valid DOT physical (preferred).
- Strong work ethic with the ability to effectively work in a team environment.
- Complete all work in an organized timely manner, while adhering to the company’s safety protocols and any applicable regulations.
- Understand the proper use for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). This will include the ability to wear the proper issued FR (Fire Retardant) clothing.
- Physical demands include, but not limited to standing for extended periods of time, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, reaching, squatting, and bending. Some jobs may require twisting in awkward positions for extended durations.
- Strength and endurance must be adequate to endure arduous labor in all outdoor weather conditions.
- It is imperative to be punctual, daily at the assigned time and ready to work. This is non-negotiable.
