Hire Resolve's esteemed client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their Assurance and Tax Team in Gaithersburg MD. As a Senior Accountant in the Team, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing accounting of client financial statements and providing valuable insights and recommendations to improve their tax processes and controls.

Responsibilities:
- As a Senior Accountant, your role encompasses various aspects of client service, spanning attestation engagements to tax preparation and review.
- You will oversee the work of staff accountants in both office and client site settings, occasionally handling client communication on-site and fostering client relationships.

- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of generally accepted auditing standards, along with proficiency in common audit procedures, techniques, and adherence to the firm's quality control standards.
- Develop, review, and seek approval for engagement programs.
- Assess audit risks and present for approval.
- Create or review work papers, financial statements, and accompanying footnote disclosures.
- In the tax domain, conduct thorough tax research, articulate conclusions, and document findings in written format.
- Generate intricate tax projections and prepare tax returns.
- Additionally, review tax returns crafted by other team members.
- Address and resolve issues within engagements, showcasing expertise in GAAP and specialized accounting principles.
- Adhere to CPA professional standards, conduct technical research, and demonstrate strong review skills. Independently plan, schedule, and complete engagements.
- Master the engagement process from prospect to client meetings.
- Actively participate in firm-sponsored events and provide training to staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics/Equivalent
- CPA Required
- 4-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within CPA/Consulting Firms.
- Highly motivated with the desire to grow and develop
- Interest in building collaborative relationships, striving to find the best possible solutions
- Knowledge of accounting and tax software
- Ability to travel, as needed for client engagements (mostly local)
- Willingness to participate in business development activities (guidance and training will be provided)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
Benefits
- Salary: $81K/yr - $119K/yr, negotiable. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the market demand, education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
