Full Job Description
The Site Supervisor is responsible for the general day-to-day operations of an MRDC Early Head Start center. assuring regulatory and legal compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations as well as the Early Head Start Standards, as well as supervising and monitoring all staff assigned to designated centers.
- Supervises and evaluates all center staff and provides training and technical assistance to support performance according to MRDC Early Head Start protocols.
- Interviews, hires, and trains center staff in cooperation with HR.
- Ensures that programs and services comply with licensing, accreditation, state, and federal standards and other appropriate regulatory or professional requirements as well as MRDC’s mission.
- Coordinates the maintenance of the facility to ensure safety and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Administers areas of the budget identified by the Head Start Director within the guidelines established by the Board and Administration.
- Works directly with families to foster involvement through ongoing communication and participates in all parent meetings and special events.
- Assists with outreach, recruitment, and enrollment of eligible children to increase awareness of our programs and to achieve enrollment goals.
- In conjunction with the leadership team, facilitates development of program components that address the developmental, cognitive, physical and safety needs of children enrolled in the program.
- Discusses problems or concerns at the center level with the EHS Operations Coordinator and attends routine meetings as scheduled with required data or information.
- Assists EHS Operations Coordinator by sharing licensing reports, incident reports, and accident reports to ensure compliance and to identify trends to ensure ongoing program quality, improvement, and compliance.
- Manages staff schedules to ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios, as defined by Head Start Performance Standards, at all times. Also arranges substitute schedules to ensure continuous coverage.
- Coordinates all center level transportation activities according to MRDC Head Start protocols, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. .
- Supervises the maintenance of all required material for files, particularly as specified by state licensing regulations and Early Head Start Performance Standards.
- Enforces all building safety procedures, including all fire regulations.
- Networks in the community with individuals and community organizations. Establishes and maintains collaborative efforts between MRDC and other organizations as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field.
- Four years supervisory experience at a licensed Early Childhood Education Center.
- Ability to obtain a Director Certification through OCC.
- Must pass criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.
