Location: Quincy, MA
FreightPlus is seeking a motivated or experienced Carrier Sales Representative to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with carriers to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of our customers' freight. This is an associate-level position with lots of room to grow within the organization!
Carrier Sales Representative Responsibilities:
- Strategic Carrier Relations: The carrier sales representative is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with carriers to ensure capacity for our customers' freight.
- Cost Effective Negotiation: The carrier sales representative is responsible for negotiating rates and contracts with carriers to ensure cost-effective solutions for our customers.
- Carrier Performance: The carrier sales representative is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely records in our transportation management system and tracking carrier performance to ensure quality service and on-time performance for our customers.
- Escalation Management: The carrier sales representative acts as the first recipient for incoming emails for carriers, and should provide prompt, accurate feedback to those requests as well as communicate effectively with the client management team and carriers to resolve any issues or concerns.
- Operational Improvement: The carrier sales representative is responsible for identifying and reporting operational inefficiencies as well as serving as the point of contact between the carrier and internal teams when driving operational improvements.
Requirements
Required Experience and Knowledge:
- Previous experience in transportation, carrier sales or other related fields preferred
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to collaborate with other members of the team to ensure efficient and effective transportation solutions
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
