What will you be doing?
Welcome aboard as a Design Quality Engineer! In this role, you'll report to the Quality Assurance Development Manager, playing a crucial role in ensuring our design and development processes meet regulatory standards and deliver top-quality devices. Your responsibilities include maintaining regulatory compliance, overseeing quality assurance, managing risk, implementing design control processes, and conducting validation activities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to embedding quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Our commitment to continuous improvement drives efficiency and excellence in design practices. Ultimately, your work safeguards product quality, safety, and reliability, meeting both customer expectations and regulatory demands.
Your main focus will be identifying and implementing controls and supporting product development from concept through commercialization, as well as supporting Post Market Surveillance activities such as trending complaint signals using industry-standard statistical techniques.
Your contribution is pivotal in ensuring the safety and success of the Allurion Device, positioning you at the forefront of upholding our dedication to design excellence and driving our continuous growth at Allurion.
What we're looking for in you:
- Bachelor’s Degree Requirement: A bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification is a minimum requirement for this role, providing a strong foundation in the necessary expertise.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in medical device design assurance, new product development, or related medical device roles.
- Expertise Maestro: Proficient in documentation practices with meticulous attention to detail.
- Recognized Skills: Familiarity with materials science/plastics engineering is advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with Minitab statistical software (or equivalent) is a plus. Proficiency in MS Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Teams is required.
- Goal-oriented and Initiative-driven: Demonstrated goal orientation with a positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving, showcasing creativity, independence, efficiency, and attention to detail, is highly valued.

Location:
- Our office in Natick offers a hybrid full-time schedule, with 3 days onsite. At Allurion, we believe in the power of both virtual connections and in-person interactions, fostering a dynamic culture of collaboration and innovation across our diverse global team.

- This role may involve occasional travel, with the ability to accommodate up to 10% of your time on the road.
