About the role
The ideal candidate is an expert in designing core electrical/electronic systems that serve as the backbone for robotics and industrial automation products. The candidate has designed industrial signal processing, power distribution, sensing and controls systems from concept to scale leveraging custom and commercially off the shelf components. They have designed systems that can sample, filter, and transform large amounts of high-speed data to drive robotics and industrial automation products. This candidate is also able to design core electrical systems including power distribution systems, control boxes, cable harnesses, and electrical enclosures. They are an expert in specifying and sourcing core system components for an industrial grade product including power supplies, DAQs, motor controllers, sensors, and more.

Qualifications
Note: Direct robotics or automation experience is a must have.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years applicable professional experience in the robotics or automation industry.
- Ability to specify and design data acquisition systems for acquiring, processing and logging high-speed sensor data and signals.
- Expertise specifying and designing efficient power distribution systems for a wide range of hardware.
- Ability to design electrical control boxes for motion control applications.
- Ability to design cable harnesses and enclosures, including thermal analysis.
- Familiarity with various sensor technologies, data acquisition hardware, and software including load cells, accelerometers, vision systems, and other industrial sensor technologies.
- Proficient in design and compliance with relevant industrial standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong documentation skills for processes and findings.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stake- holders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing software for filtering and signal processing is a plus. Including experience with:
- Programming languages such as Python, LabVIEW, or similar programming languages for signal processing, data analysis and automation.
- Development Libraries like PyDAQmx, PyVISA, and SciPy in order to interface with hardware and perform data analysis.
- Experience with Python's scripting capabilities for rapid prototyping and modification of code as requirements evolve.
- Experience performing statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
- Experience working with hardware for safety systems is a plus.
