🗨️ About the Position
- Lunit is looking for a self-driven proactive and passionate Director or Senior Director of Business Development BioPharma, Lunit Oncology. This role will focus on establishing and expanding partnerships with small to midsize Biopharma companies while driving revenue for the Lunit Oncology group.
- The (Senior) Director of Business Development is responsible for cultivating and growing Lunit’s partnerships with BioPharma clients to support them in advancing their research, clinical and/or commercial programs. This individual will work holistically with Translational / Precision Medicine Research groups, Clinical Development Services (including laboratory services) groups, and Diagnostic Products partners. The Business Development professional works cross-functionally with Lunit stakeholders and builds relationships with clients to drive projects forward using our AI products.
🚩 Roles & Responsibilities
- Build relationships with R&D and commercial executives at partner organizations, enabling identification, development of and support for additional value-creation opportunities
- Source leads, map stakeholders, and outreach to surface relevant client interests and opportunities
- Determine where Lunit’s products/services are best positioned to support clients’ R&D and/or commercial objectives; negotiate with accounts to drive projects forward
- Meet/exceed revenue goals for set product line while delivering on established strategic objectives
- Employ a nuanced enterprise sales approach to understand influencers, approvers, and decision makers across the client’s business continuum and influence them to act
- Work closely with Business Operations, Medical Affairs, Product Management, and other Lunit teams to ensure communication/coordination and strategic outcomes
- Track progress against defined strategic objectives and revenue goals; review progress/setbacks frequently with broader Account Team and Lunit Leadership
- Contribute to the development of the Oncology portfolio by providing feedback to Leadership regarding client responses and suggestions; maintain a solution-oriented mindset
- Stay informed on the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory environment, emerging policy developments, and client priorities
- Understand the client’s scientific challenges and define approaches to solve them with AI digital pathology solutions
- Travel approximately 15-40% of working time, domestically and internationally, to attend key conferences and meet with clients
Requirements
🎯 Qualifications
- Over 7 years of experience in Business Development and Sales in the Life Sciences sector (BioPharma)
- Experience in building and launching a SaaS, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech product/service
- An extensive network of biopharma partners in Oncology with a developed acumen in the AI digital pathology space
- Deep relationships with pharmaceutical stakeholders
- Exceptional account management, articulation of issues, and an ability to navigate a wide range of stakeholders to solve problems
- Proven ability to navigate multi-faceted client organizations with repeated success
- Ability to set strategies and tactics that are aggressive, but realizable
- Wins followers with a positive and energetic approach to work and life; gains energy from solving difficult problems
- Proactive mindset that bridges ideas to implementable solutions, and can help move both internal and external stakeholders to quickly solve problems

- Bachelor’s degree
🏅 Preferred Experiences
- Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MD)
- Prior knowledge of AI solutions, and/or expertise in digital pathology AI in particular
- BioPharma experience with an understanding of CDx development processes, RWD and multimodal approaches
