Full Job Description
The HR Generalist will be responsible for applying business knowledge and human resource expertise to our business while assisting with the hourly recruiting effort onsite. This is both a strategic and hands-on role, doing everything from coaching managers, to answering HR related questions and requests, to on-boarding employees. They will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and HR best practices, while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and the leadership team. They will need to understand the culture at North Coast and work hard to promote a positive employee experience.
The HR Generalist will lead our recruitment effort utilizing our applicant tracking system to post jobs, screen candidates, schedule interviews, manage applicant flow, and process onboarding. Helping to ensure we are hiring the best candidates for production, shipping, and other hourly support roles.
They will process payroll for the entire company, weekly, through ADP WFN and assist in implementing key functions of ADP over the next 6 months such as electronic onboarding and benefit administration.
The HR Generalist will spend 70% of their time working on general HR functions and the remainder on recruiting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- First point of contact for general employee questions around policies and procedures
- Coordinates the hiring process, posting jobs, scheduling interviews, communicating with new hire
- Facilitates employee onboarding, orientation, background checks and drug screens
- Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employee
- Communicates HR initiatives and ensures employee assessments are completed and administered on schedule
- Assists with some training and development functions
- Acts as the main point of contact for the recruitment effort
Requirements
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience
- 1+ years of recruiting in manufacturing required; food or seafood industry, preferred
- Bilingual English & Spanish or Portuguese, required
- Employee relations exposure
- Familiar with basic HR policy and procedure
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- A knack for problem solving, using sound judgement
- Growth-oriented and adaptable to change
- Experience with ADP workforce now
- Willingness to work a part-time schedule that fits the needs of the business
- Proven ability to successfully work with individuals at various levels of the organization
- Business acumen - you understand what drives our business and see how HR programs can best support, and are seen as a credible resource to our local leadership team
