Are you an experienced HR Generalist with a knack for managing payroll and benefits in fast-paced startup environments? We're on the hunt for someone like you to join our team! As our HR Generalist for Payroll & Benefits, you'll be the go-to person for ensuring our employees get paid accurately and on time, while also ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations across multiple locations in the US and Singapore.
Reporting to the HR Director, you'll play a crucial role in supporting various functions, from HR and Finance to payroll-related operations. Your mission is to streamline processes, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in everything related to payroll and benefits administration.

Your Day-to-Day:
Payroll Operations:
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, including salary payments, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
- Implement and maintain efficient payroll processing systems and technologies, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Provide payroll support to Finance, including reconciling payroll data and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
- Lead new market entry (NMO) payroll setup, managing company codes, tax requirements, and legal compliance.
Benefits Execution and Administration:
- Lead the administration of employee benefits, including enrollment, life changes, and escalations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Own and manage the open enrollment process across multiple locations, coordinating communications and providing support to employees.
- Communicate benefits information effectively to employees, addressing inquiries and providing guidance on available options.
Technical Onboarding:
- Design and implement a seamless onboarding process for new hires, incorporating technical aspects such as account setups, access permissions, and software training.
- Coordinate preboarding activities to ensure new hires have the necessary tools and information before their start date.
- Manage HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to facilitate smooth onboarding processes and maintain accurate employee records.
- Provide compliance support and serve as backup for employee relations support as needed.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
- Present findings to HR leadership to inform decision-making to support initiatives.
- Identify areas for improvement across onboarding, payroll and benefits execution in support of scaling HR function and company.
- Conduct benefits reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of benefits data.
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000 USD dependent on location and experience.
Requirements
The Necessities and Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with payroll software/ HRIS (ADP), Google Suite (especially Excel/Google Sheets) and Microsoft
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience (5- 8 years) in payroll administration and benefits management.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with HRIS software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus.
