This position presents an exciting chance for those who hold a degree in psychology or are currently enrolled in a nursing degree program.
Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (WBHH) provides psychiatric stabilization and dual diagnosis treatments for Children, Adolescents and Adult populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Our goal is to ensure patients and their loved ones feel comfortable and are well informed regarding treatment options.
We are conveniently located in Westborough near the intersection of Route 495 and Route 9. The hospital operates 24/7 with multiple shifts available.
The Mental Health Technician, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, is responsible for maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu grounded in Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital’s mission and core therapeutic principles. As a member of our multi-disciplinary treatment team, the Mental Health Technician contributes to each Child patient’s individual treatment plan by helping develop, implement, and document appropriate goals and interventions, informed by patient strengths and presenting child psychiatric problems.
- Conducts patient observation and rounds according to defined policy and procedure
- Assists staff in provision of patient care in accordance with the individual treatment plan.
- Observes and monitors patient’s progress and reports observations to appropriate staff.
- Ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Ability to implement appropriate treatment interventions based on developmental needs and/or delays.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living skills as necessary.
- Provide appropriate supervision of patients’ activities.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Psychology degree preferred.
- Experience in an inpatient or outpatient behavioral healthcare treatment facility is a plus.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
