Full Job Description
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to develop comprehensive MEP plans and specifications for cold storage, food, and beverage projects.
- Design Review: Conduct thorough reviews of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs to ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize MEP systems performance, minimize costs, and enhance energy efficiency while maintaining project objectives.
- Procurement Assistance: Assist in the procurement process by providing technical expertise in selecting MEP equipment, materials, and systems, ensuring compatibility and compliance with project requirements.
- Subcontractor Management: Oversee MEP subcontractors throughout the construction phase, providing guidance, resolving technical issues, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
- Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality control measures to verify the installation and functionality of MEP systems, conducting inspections, tests, and commissioning procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to MEP systems in cold storage, food, and beverage facilities, ensuring full compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to MEP systems integration and propose effective mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure timely delivery.
- Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for MEP-related inquiries, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and fostering positive client relationships.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to enhance MEP coordination processes, methodologies, and best practices to drive efficiency, innovation, and excellence in project delivery.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP coordination, preferably within the design-build environment, with a focus on cold storage, food, and beverage projects.
· In-depth knowledge of MEP systems design, installation, and integration principles, with a strong understanding of industry-specific requirements and challenges.
· Proficiency in CAD or Revit for clash detection
· Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively engage with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and clients.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
· Professional Engineer (PE) license is beneficial but not required.
· Familiarity with Lean construction principles and BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodologies is a plus.
