Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Physiatrist to join our team in Springfield, MA. As a compassionate primary and post-acute care organization, our mission is to improve the health, happiness, and dignity of senior living residents. The ideal candidate will have an M.D or D.O degree and a current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of employment. Certification by The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) and a current DEA certificate (or in progress) are also required.
Responsibilities:
- Apply and modify the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide comprehensive geriatric and post-acute care services.
- Diagnose and treat a variety of diseases and injuries.
- Ensure comprehensive delivery of services and quality patient care.
- Evaluate medical procedures and everyday situations and suggest ways to improve delivery of service.
- Diagnose pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition.
- Evaluate and treat patients with physical and/or cognitive impairments and disabilities that result in musculoskeletal conditions, neurological conditions, or other medical conditions.
- Determine and implement appropriate treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor ongoing progress and health of patients, and change treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients.
- Counsel patients and their families and help them adapt to lifestyle changes.
- Provide support and advice to patients that receive long-term care.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
- Previous experience in geriatrics and post-acute care settings including SNF, IPR, and LTACH is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in EHR documentation.
- Proficiency in documenting and billing in any setting above, or in the hospitalist setting.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to react calmly, objectively, and effectively in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of medical practice related to geriatric and post-acute care settings.
- Knowledge of medical policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
Schedule:
Full-time or part-time schedules are available. This position is ideal for a physician who appreciates a flexible work schedule and minimizing uncompensated clinical work. There is limited or no call required, and the schedule is flexible but must be able to round once weekly for a few hours in person.
