Summary:
This position is Temporary SLP from Oct1 - Feb 1st 2025. 5 days per week school hours. in Walpole MA. This position provides speech and language evaluation, and Working with students who have severe disabilities, and are medically complex. Many of the students require communication devices. There is a smaller group (2-6 students), in a K-2 SEL program, dealing more with social pragmatics. The position will work with both populations.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree
- DESE License of Speech Language and Hearing Disorders (All Levels)
- Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the areas of child speech and language development
- Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Technology experience
Job Duties -:
- Provide students with intensive instruction in speech, language, communication, and pragmatic language skills as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation
- Assess students via formal and informal test measures
- Participate in the development of student’s Individual Education Program (IEP)
- Assist teachers and other special education staff in the development and implementation of curriculum accommodations/modifications and appropriate classroom strategies as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation
- Maintain appropriate records and provide timely reports
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques for students with communication disorders
- Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students
