Camp Kaleidoscope, the JCC Greater Boston’s arts and science day camp, seeks an outgoing, dynamic leader to oversee counselors, campers, and CITs in a nurturing environment based on respect and fun. Our camp units are split into campers entering grades K – 3 (Lower Camp), campers entering grades 4 – 8 (Upper Camp), and Counselors in Training (CITs) entering grades 9 - 10.
Camp Kaleidoscope draws creative youth interested in the arts, science, and the outdoors. Supportive, experienced counselors and teachers guide campers as they develop and build self-confidence. Camp is fast-paced, nurturing, and supportive, as campers and staff develop lifelong friendships.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with campers, staff, and parents as needed
- Train, mentor, and support Camp Counselors
- Lead pre-camp orientation training for counselor staff
- Lead Unit meetings throughout the summer
- Facilitate an environment where each camper feels emotionally supported and physically safe
- Help facilitate arts festivals, theme days, theater presentations, cooking, science, and sports, and other activities and special events
- Complete mid-season and end-of-summer evaluations of assigned staff
- Lead large group activities with campers and/or staff
- Assist with Upper Camp Theater Productions (2 evenings per summer)
- Oversee Late Nights until 7:30 PM (2 evenings per summer)
Schedule
June 17 through August 16, 8:30am – 4:30pm, Mondays through Fridays, Full-time seasonal
Requirements
A college graduate or equivalent experience. Has a minimum of 2 years working in a school, camp, or camp-like setting

- Is energetic, enthusiastic, and inspired to go the extra mile
