Full Job Description
Slows Bar BQ, a celebrated restaurant chain specializing in barbecue and craft beer, is seeking an experienced Food Truck Driver / Lead Cook to join our team. The selected individual will be responsible for operating our immensely popular food truck, in addition to preparing and serving our signature dishes to hungry patrons. With three brick and mortar locations, including the flagship Corktown spot, as well as a carryout outpost and a location within the Grand Rapids Downtown Market, Slows has won over fans across Detroit and beyond. We're looking for an individual who can help ensure that our high standards for quality and customer service are upheld when we take our show on the road.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Slows Bar BQ's food truck, including setup, breakdown, and ensuring the truck is clean and has all necessary supplies
- Prepare and serve our signature food and drink offerings, including brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and more
- Meet sales targets and ensure that all transactions are properly processed
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure that food truck operations run smoothly
- Assist with catering events, including setup and breakdown, as needed
- Provide top-notch customer service and represent the Slows Bar BQ brand in a positive light
- Ensure that all food truck operations comply with relevant health and safety regulations
- Deliver customer orders utilizing our company vehicles in a safe and timely manner
- Maintain contact with Catering manager and being flexible as orders changes
- Accurate assembly/inspection of all catering and delivery orders
- Daily commissary deliveries to flagship restaurant on Michigan Avenue
- Accurately receive and stock incoming shipments
- General cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Assist with kitchen prep needs between deliveries
Requirements
- Experience driving and operating a food truck or similar vehicle
- Proven track record of preparing and serving delicious, high-quality food in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, often for long hours
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage inventory and track expenses
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to follow recipes and adhere to food safety guidelines
- A clean driving record and a valid driver's license are required; a CDL is preferred but not necessary.
