We are currently seeking a proficient and detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer to play a pivotal role in our mission. In this position, you will spearhead the end-to-end testing process, ensuring seamless and punctual product releases while upholding the highest standards of quality. We are looking for an individual with a robust background in Testing and Quality Assurance for connected consumer electronics.
Location: Metro Detroit, MI
(Candidates must reside in MI.)
Responsibilities:
- Lead quality assurance efforts across the entire product stack, emphasizing hardware testing and validation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and execution strategies.
- Investigate hardware bugs and issues in-depth, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Champion testing best practices, driving continuous improvement through innovation and iteration.
- Thrive in a dynamic, global team environment, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Document and communicate test results and strategies clearly and effectively.
Requirements
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in testing Linux-based hardware devices, with a strong understanding of testing sensors and hardware peripherals.
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or software engineering roles, with a focus on connected consumer electronics.
- Experience with mobile apps testing or development or IoT devices.
- Proficiency in automated testing frameworks and methodologies, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience.
- Experience in building test rigs and conducting test procedures with product hardware.
- Familiarity with AWS services and experience with continuous deployment pipelines using GitLab.
- Solid grasp of QA tool development chains and environments.
- Proficiency in various types of testing, including regression, performance, stress, end-to-end, integration, and security testing.
- Good understanding of serial communication methods.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Compensation Range
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Base Salary: $77,835.00 - $108,770.00 USD
