Full Job Description
Vector North America is seeking to add to our team that proposes, builds and delivers custom HIL systems to fulfill growing demand in the area of testing and validation on customized benches more rapidly. Custom HIL test systems are developed for simulations and test automation for individual customer projects using Vector tools such as CANoe, vTESTstudio and VT-Systems. An experienced, organized Sr. Field Application Engineer / Technical Coordinator is needed to:
- Develop and implement HIL testing solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Proactively initiate customer contact on a regular basis to understand their goals, challenges, and requirements for HIL test system opportunities.
- Identify, specify, and propose projects to assist customers integrating Vector HIL solution into their projects.
- Deliver HIL test solutions based on Vector tools such as CANoe, vTESTstudio, VT-Systems, etc.
- Liaison with the customer throughout the project, delivery, and support.
- Select and work with test bench suppliers to meet the project requirements.
- Collaborate with the project teams in a global organization to meet customer needs.
- Conduct demonstrations to promote Vector HIL solutions within customer organizations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in vehicle networking, test system design/development and delivery of HIL testers
- 5+ years experience using/implementing automotive networking standards such as CAN, LIN, MOST, Ethernet,
- Programming experience in C/C++/C#/Python is desirable.
- Knowledge of XML, .NET and MATLAB/Simulink a plus
- Knowledge of OEM/Tier1 automotive ECU development and testing process.
- Strong hardware and system design knowledge
- Advanced communication skills for all levels within the customer organization
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with a sense of urgency to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to recognize, develop and propose HIL solutions to existing or potential customers.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as necessary (typically < 30%).
- B.S. in EE/SE/CE/CS or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
