Full Job Description
A partner is seeking a Director, Self-Insured Product in Minnetonka, MN. This position involves driving product strategy, innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and implementation to position the self-insured product line for success with brokers and employers. The Director will develop the self-insured product portfolio, leveraging internal and external capabilities to establish a unique value proposition.
Responsibilities
- Develop short- and long-term product roadmaps including pricing, marketing, promotion, and placement strategies.
- Execute implementation plans for new product introductions.
- Introduce innovative products and solutions that provide value to employer groups and brokers.
- Engage with external business/vendor partners to evaluate and implement best-in-class value-added services.
- Establish influential relationships with customers, industry experts, vendor partners, and consultants to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Participate in the Commercial leadership team to develop and execute segment strategy.
- Manage daily fundamentals of self-insured product management and stop loss insurance.
- Collaborate to drive go-to-market strategies for existing and new products/services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 8+ years of relevant health care industry experience.
- 3+ years of management/leadership experience.
- Experience in developing and introducing new products, product strategies, and customer value propositions in a competitive environment.
- Excellent knowledge of marketing, sales, and distribution processes in group health insurance and related services.
- Commercial purchasing insight, industry trends knowledge, contract negotiation experience, strategic thinking and planning, project leadership and execution, and knowledge of vendor and third-party capabilities.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and performance in product development, health care funding arrangements, group health products and features, health care operations, market research, financial analysis, strategic planning, contract negotiation, product development process frameworks, and sales and marketing concepts.
- Understanding of current and evolving needs of small, medium, and large customers.
- Excellent creative instincts and understanding of the health plan industry.
- Ability to lead, build, and manage a motivated team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build consensus across multiple constituencies, including senior leadership.

The full salary range for this position is $124,600 - $213,600, with actual placement depending on education, work experience, certifications, and other factors. Additionally, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation.
