The Electrical Team Lead - 1st Shift will be responsible for supervising a team of electrical technicians during the first shift, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of electrical installations and troubleshooting on vehicle systems. This position emphasizes leadership, technical proficiency, and effective collaboration to meet production targets while upholding safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will inspire their team, address challenges, and drive continuous improvement in electrical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor electrical technicians on the first shift, offering guidance in troubleshooting and repairs.
- Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and company protocols.
- Monitor daily production schedules and manage resources to achieve objectives.
- Interpret project specifications and provide clear direction to the team to facilitate accurate execution.
- Conduct performance evaluations and promote skill advancement among team members.
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical inquiries, escalating complex issues to upper management as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical activities and report results to management.
- Coordinate with other departments to address workflow challenges and enhance operational efficiency.
- Engage in continuous improvement strategies to optimize processes and team performance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical technician, with a focus on leadership or supervisory roles.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and their applications within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with an emphasis on team motivation and development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff and management.
- Familiarity with PLC systems, ladder logic, and network communications such as J1939 is preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and industrial practices.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Computer proficiency in diagnostic software, Microsoft Office Suite, and manufacturing systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an associate degree in a related field is highly valued.
