Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Excellence: Prepare detailed engineering documents and equipment specifications that meet project requirements, ensuring the effective application of thermodynamic principles such as HVAC design, load/energy modeling calculations, and more.
- Design Collaboration: Utilize Revit and other design/drafting software to produce high-quality drawings, schedules, and details. Collaborate closely with architectural, electrical, civil, and structural engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Project Coordination: Work in tandem with other disciplines, including electrical, controls, structural, and commissioning, to deliver successful projects. Manage coordination efforts to ensure all aspects of the project align and integrate smoothly.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for your assigned scope of work, ensuring projects remain on track and within scope. Take ownership of financial accountability for your work.
- Project Leadership: Take on the role of project manager for complete projects, overseeing a dedicated project team and ensuring that all project goals are met on time and within budget.
- Business Development Support: Contribute to the business development process by providing valuable input for proposals, meeting with prospective clients, and presenting our capabilities and solutions.
- Team Direction: Provide clear direction and guidance to team members, including subcontractors, ensuring high standards of work and project outcomes.
- Technical Oversight: Approve final equipment selections and drawing submittals, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Support Across Disciplines: Offer technical and engineering support to other departments and disciplines as needed, fostering collaboration and ensuring the overall success of our projects.
- Construction Administration: Lead and participate in construction administration tasks, including attending meetings, reviewing change orders, and responding to RFIs to keep projects on track.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Credentials: Licensed Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) or eligible to sit for PE.
- Experience: At least 6 years of engineering experience within an engineering consulting firm, with a strong focus on HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with a solid understanding of psychometrics and pump/fan laws.
- Industry Expertise: Proven experience in HVAC, plumbing systems design, selections, and optimization.
