Full Job Description
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing custodial services for assigned facilities including snow removal and grounds up-keep. This position may also perform general maintenance activities on buildings and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning services for various Head Start centers, including maintaining clean floors, bathrooms, windows, and furniture; and trash removal.
- Perform deep cleaning duties to ensure the cleanliness of the building such as carpet cleaning, stairwell and restroom detailing.
- Ensure building security ‑ that all windows, doors, and gates are locked after hours of operation.
- Order, receive, pick up, and properly stores all cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Remove snow and debris from sidewalks and steps; available for call in for snow removal as needed.
- Maintain yard and garden and classroom fire lanes as needed.
- Perform general repairs of office furniture and cleaning equipment.
- Install and/or assemble equipment and furniture (i.e. bulletin boards, shelving, and office furniture).
- Routinely inspect building for safety and repairs.
- Perform duties as a member of a maintenance team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education & Experience: High School diploma with 1 year of experience in the maintenance field. Relevant vocational training highly beneficial. Experience securing buildings preferred.
Abilities and Skills: In order to be successful in this position, the person will at minimum need to possess the following abilities and skills: Mechanical knowledge adequate to make minor plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs and assemble and repair office furniture. Must be able to operate company vehicles including cube truck.
Driver’s License: Because of the multiple locations of centers, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation on a daily basis is required. No major violations and no more than two minor violations in the last five years
Mental Requirements: This position requires the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, and the ability to function independently. This person must also possess good mechanical aptitude and personal initiative and sound judgment. Must be able to relate to and communicate effectively with multi‑ethnic and socio‑economic groups.

Salary: $17.27/hr - $18.98/hr
Schedule: 16 hours/week, 4:30pm - 8:30pm, M-T, Part-Time, Full Year
