POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will support the manufacturing engineering team in developing, implementing, and optimizing production processes. This role involves collaboration with production staff to identify improvement opportunities, troubleshoot issues, and enhance production efficiency. Essential for ensuring product quality and reliability through effective problem-solving and strong technical knowledge.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the design and installation of manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Support production by troubleshooting technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Collect data, analyze production metrics, and develop performance reports.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Support new product launches by developing manufacturing procedures.
- Conduct experiments, interface with vendors, and contribute to production tools' development.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices.
- Train production personnel on new processes and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects.
Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Technical diploma or degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment focused on process improvement.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience with fibre-reinforced plastics (FRP) is a plus.
