WHAT THIS JOB IS LIKE
- Overall responsibility for managing assigned program services. Responsible for all aspects of program operation including staffing and programming.
- Day to day program operations – oversee proper supervision and staffing for all persons served. Ensure that services provided are person-centered, age-appropriate, and community focused.
- Maintain a working knowledge of licensing and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a professional and positive behavioral atmosphere by promoting the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Work as part of the agency leadership team and assist with developing and moving forward the agency strategic plan.
- Abide by and implement all program requirements and regulations applicable to MSS. Identify program development goals and implement plans to report on and achieve goals. Oversee the provision of program services. Work collaboratively to develop best practices in service delivery and performance improvement.
- Ensure the safety and health of staff and persons served.
- Provide supervision and support to staff including recognition, guidance, and feedback. Work collaboratively with Human Resources to recruit and retain staff. Ensure training requirements are met by all staff. Identify training needs and seek resources.
- Act as a liaison with other appropriate agencies and organizations to promote the interests of MSS. Take an active role in assisting with and attending agency sponsored events.
- Responsible for budget development for assigned program. Monitor revenue and expenses regularly. Work collaboratively with the accounting department.
Requirements
- All candidates for employment are required to pass a Department of Human Services background check and a criminal background check.
- Must meet the qualifications of a Designated Manager under 245D.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to motivate and direct the work of others. Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to work both independently and cooperatively with co-workers is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and ability to work with confidential information is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must have a good recent driving record and be insurable under the terms set by our insurance carrier.
