Local Live Haul Driver

Prestage Farms is currently seeking a Local Live Haul Driver to join our team. As a Local Live Haul Driver, you will be responsible for transporting live animals from farms to processing plants in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) to transport live animals
• Ensure the humane and safe handling of animals during transportation
• Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
• Maintain accurate records of transportation activities
• Communicate and coordinate with farms and processing plants to ensure timely pickups and deliveries

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• At least 21 years old
• Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Minimum of 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience
• Ability to handle and restrain animals
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of professionalism

Benefits

• Insurance coverage will begin on the first day of the month after you have been employed for 60 days. Effective June 1, 2022, premiums will be based on the Health Care Plan that you choose. The cost will be as follows:

• Your cost for Group Dental Insurance is currently $4.90 per week for single coverage or $15.36 per week for family coverage. Both the Health and Dental Insurances are pre-tax. The company pays the balance of the insurance premiums.
• Your cost for Group Vision Insurance is currently $1.77 per week for single coverage or $3.81 per week for family coverage.

• Life insurance coverage will begin on the first day of the month after you have been employed for 60 days. The amount of the policy is $15,000.00. The company pays 100% of the life insurance policy.

• Principal in the form of a letter will offer you the opportunity to join the 401K retirement plan on or around your anniversary date. The maximum you can contribute is 50% of your gross salary. The company will match 100% of the first 2% you contribute.

• The vacation year is defined as your anniversary year. Vacation days are taken after each year(s) anniversary award date with the following schedule:

• Prestage Farms MS, Inc. grants seven holidays per year. They are: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. You must be employed 60 days to get paid for a holiday. If you are required to work on a holiday after the 60-day probationary period you will receive both the holiday pay and pay for the hours you worked.
