About Powerflex Supply
Powerflex Supply was started by longtime livestock graziers to offer a full line of electric fencing and livestock watering supplies for graziers of all levels. We choose products based on performance. Our goal is to provide the highest quality products for the most reasonable prices. Powerflex Supply was recently acquired by Soilworks and is headquartered in San Antonio, TX with one branch in Missouri and additional branches in the planning stages.
Position Overview
The Powerflex Supply Operations Manager is responsible for providing leadership, vision, strategy, and the development of short- and long-term functional plans in support of organizational goals and objectives. This position reports to the company's CEO and provides leadership to the Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Team, and Warehouse team.
Location: Powerflex Supply – Seymour, MO. This is not a remote eligible position.
Requirements
Key objectives for this role:
- Lead Supply Chain Management activities, driving improvements in quality, delivery, lead time, and cost to ensure a reliable supply base, particularly with strategic suppliers.
- Develop and execute actions that deliver annual cost-saving targets in direct and indirect spend.
- Collaborate with supply partners and operations to implement agreements and processes that yield year-over-year improvement in inventory turns.
- Improve the procurement team's efficiency and effectiveness through improved analytics for the purchase process, leverage of offshore resources, and mentoring team to increase functional capabilities.
- Research new products to add to the SKU list for Powerflex Supply. Identify new vendors that offer innovative products and services for Powerflex Supply to offer
- Establish assembly operations for Powerflex products, including raw materials, WIP, workflow, quality control, and final assembly/testing.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement measurement tools for key performance indicators for product management, supply base on-time delivery, quality performance, lead-time reduction / increased inventory turns, and cost reduction.
- Accomplish aggressive goals for manufacturing (assembly operations) and supply base performance by developing and executing detailed plans, measuring results, and making rapid adjustments as necessary.
- Provide leadership for the procurement team members, assigning responsibilities and overseeing performance management that supports their successful achievement of department goals and personal growth.
- Lead negotiations for Capital Equipment and high-value operational expenses.
- Develop and implement operating procedures and policies for procurement across Powerflex Supply.
- Collaborate with the portfolio companies, providing requested data and assisting to achieve portfolio-wide objectives.
- Identify, implement, manage and optimize the process and procedure for utilizing inventory and supply chain planning module in SAAS.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure adherence to inventory controls, including the cycle count program for raw material, WIP, and finished goods. Establish procedures as necessary to secure accuracy and control of all inventories.
- Negotiate and control freight costs, both inbound and outbound, for TF, LTL, Small Package, and Hot Shots through the use of 3PLs and/or negotiated price agreements.
- Track Powerflex Supply’s days to ship for open orders and also track orders fulfilled per employee.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; technical degree a plus.
- ISM or APICS certification preferred.
- Strong MRP, CRP, and ERP system experience and knowledge.
- Strong analytical aptitude is required, with statistical analysis preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of procurement/materials management experience.
- Experience in retail and multi-branch distribution is required. Agriculture product experience a plus.
- International sourcing and willingness to travel internationally a plus
- Travel ~10%.
- Knowledge and experience with LEAN / Six Sigma quality improvement techniques a plus.
